Living on £20 a week

Standard

As a lover of Youtube, I came across this video about a young girl who was set a challenge to only spend £20 a week in London, and it inspired me, to look at my own finances.

Watch video below:

It amazes me how much it is to have a sandwich in a coffee shop, compared to making the same sandwich at home, yet I can’t help myself, so going to spend more time using up what I have at home before I go out and buy anything.

Travelling up to London, and back to Epsom is about £10 a time, for one journey, so gonna start finding other travel methods instead.

See what I can do locally rather than travelling up to London all the time, I just love to walk up there and my son loves the train, so perhaps I should just spend money on my Oyster cards, and then it will help make the journey cheaper.

How do you save money ? I would love to hear from you.

Great Weekends

Standard

Picture I took up at The Epsom Downs, from the Beafeater in Tattenham Corner

I had a brilliant bank holiday weekend, spending time family. We spent sometime close by the River Thames, having a drink in Putney.

There some really nice bars in Putney along the river and along the high street.

Then we head a lovely meal up at the Epsom Downs on the Sunday in the Beafeater, and had a lovely Sunday lunch. Definitely would recommend.

Then last weekend, took Henry to Rugby Tots, which is great for children 2 years and upwards, and get to know their colours and learn some rugby skills, like scoring a try and kicking the ball. Then watched the Epsom Derby, this is great day out, watching some horse racing and you can take your own picnics along, whilst sunbathing (when the weather is nice, like it was).

The weekend just gone, my mum and I took my son to Hobbledown, which has some animals and kids playing areas, where they can climb, jump and slide. They even have an indoor softplay area too.

So good to have these days out, as it is good for those memories that last forever.

How do you spend your weekends?  Where do  you like to go? It would be great to hear from you and gather some ideas.

Getting ready for Christmas

Standard

It is Friday and I am off, hooray. So nice not to have to rush around getting ready for work, even though this is also kind of my work, but it feels more like a hobby rather than work as I enjoy blogging so much.

I have just done my gift guide for babies and toddlers check out my WordPress site:

https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.wordpress.com

All I need is two more people to buy gifts for, for Christmas and then got to get two birthday gifts. It is a busy time of year that today my hubby and I off to Southampton today to visit my husband’s family.

Henry will  be spending some time with my parents my side, whilst we take the long drive to Hampshire.

I am so getting into the spirit of Christmas that today I am playing for the first time this year some Christmas music. I don’t have a specific song that I like my husband loves the song called “I wish I could home for Christmas”.

I have all my decorations up which I will take photos of and put on my seasonal clear up page, soon.

I wish everyone a great week and see you all next week.
